The ClimateWorks Foundation supports public policies that prevent dangerous climate change and catalyze sustainable global prosperity. ClimateWorks partners with an international network of affiliated organizations—the ClimateWorks Network—to support smart policies in the geographic regions and economic sectors that have the greatest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Network’s goal is to inspire adoption of effective policies to limit annual global greenhouse gas emissions to 44 billion metric tons by the year 2020 (a reduction of 17 billion metric tons, or about 25 percent below business-as-usual projections), and 35 billion metric tons by the year 2030 (50 percent below projections).
The ClimateWorks Foundation is supporting Our Cities Ourselves around the world.

Volvo is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of buses and bus chassis. Quality, safety and environmental care are the corporate values of the Volvo Group, each reflected in how it develops products, how it acts in society, and how it approaches customers and employees.
Volvo’s environmental efforts are based on a life cycle approach that takes into account the environmental impact of the products from design to scrapping and recycling. Since more than 90% of the total environmental impact of a bus arises when it is in use, the emphasis of environmental work is on reducing fuel consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and other air pollutants.
Volvo Buses’s commitment to the environment is demonstrated in the following innovations: the Volvo BRT system significantly improves both environmental care and transport efficiency; the new Volvo Hybrid results in up to 35% reduction in fuel consumption; the Volvo I-shift automatic gear-changing system means high driving comfort and excellent fuel economy; growing alternative fuels offer, including biogas/CNG and biodiesel engines; leading the industry in CO2 reductions in the total supply chain; actively improving the environmental performance of our production plants; and a system of environmental product declarations (EPD) has been developed, describing the life-cycle environmental impact of a vehicle.
Volvo is supporting the Our Cities Ourselves exhibition in New York City, Mexico City, Johannesburg and Ahmedabad.
